IS Funds Ltd is a financial undertaking licensed to operate as a UCITS and investment fund management company in accordance with Article 27 of Act No. 161/2002, cf. Part B of Chapter II of Act No. 30/2003.

IS Funds Ltd was originally established in 1994 (under the name of Rekstrarfélag VÍB hf) for the operation of Verðbréfasjóðir Íslandsbanka hf ("Íslandsbanki Mutual Funds hf"). IS Funds Ltd. has charge of the day-to-day management of IS Funds mutual and investment funds, in addition to investments for Íslandsbanki Asset Management S.A., which is Íslandsbanki's management company in Luxembourg. IS Funds Ltd. also provides asset management services for third parties. The company's share capital amounts to ISK 25 million, all of which is paid up. Íslandsbanki is registered for 99.7% of the share capital.

On the basis of Article 18 of Act No. 30/2003, IS Funds Ltd has entered into an agreement with Íslandsbanki entrusting IS Funds Ltd with part of the bank's day-to-day operations, specifically the following tasks in accordance with Article 17 of the Act: internal control, legal services, marketing, the issuance and redemption of units, redemption value calculations, the valuation of securities and other assets, maintaining a register of unit holders and the settlement of trades.
